In the midst of preparing for PT3 (Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3), I was also having a hard time from handling some friendship problems.

Whenever I feel stressed out, I often cry out to God and ask “Why me? If You love me so much, why do I have to face these situations? Why do I have to go through this?” I felt really helpless because when I want to study, I get distracted by my thoughts. Hence, I talked to my mentor about it. Her solution was to surrender all my problems to God and not to depend on my own strength.

After the conversation, I reflected upon what I had done and realised I have only been complaining to God and not let Him take over and take away my problems. I then proceeded to pray and repent and surrender everything to God and the moment I did, I cried my heart out. As my tears fell, I felt the peace of God fall upon me as well. I knew He was with me, and that His strength was instilled in me.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says that “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” It is clearly stated in the bible that we should not depend on our own strength but instead always trust God and rely on His strength and guidance.

To quote a saying I heard, “God makes you face challenges so that you draw near to Him and surrender everything to Him.”
